Tunisian Recipes

Tunisia is a country that is not like any other, a name that carries with it the image of golden beaches and pure olive oil and of course that of the hospitable cultured Tunisian people. Although Arab dishes are very similar, Tunisian cuisine is characterized by touches of sophistication and beauty and its original ingredients stemming from the grains of the sea. Tunisian cooking is known for its richness in starches, fruits, vegetables and seafood. While lamb is preferred, chicken is the most used. As for the cooking method, it is mostly grilling or frying in olive oil, and butter or cream is rarely used except in dessert. Although Tunisian cuisine is not classified as diverse, it is famous for its vegetables, spices and fresh ingredients that make up a rich menu of dishes, which in turn are affected by the seasons, like other Mediterranean dishes. Couscous is one of the most popular Tunisian dishes, Masfouf and Ojja.
